Popular Nigerian rap artiste Emeka Akumefule, better known as Blaqbonez, has declared that there is no “true love” in Lagos State.
The ‘Sex Over Love’ crooner made the assertion in a recent chat with popular podcaster Fay Fay.
Blaqbonez said he had seen true love in Nasarawa and Adamawa states and a sprinkle in Akwa Ibom state but emphasised that it doesn’t exist in the nation’s commercial nerve center.
His words: “I have seen true love in other states. You know, like Nasarawa, Yola [Adamawa]… I think I have seen a little bit in Akwa Ibom, but I have never witnessed it in Lagos.”
Politics Nigeria recalls that the rapper, in February last year, unveiled his girlfriend, Gbemi Daniel, via his social media pages, stating that it feels wrong to continue to hide her from the world as she was there when nobody else was there for him.
Sharing a loved-up video compilation of himself and Gbemi, Blaqbonez wrote; “Love is beautiful when you find the right one. It feels wrong to continue to hide you from the world cos last year, when I lost my brother no one else was there for me but you.”
