Umahi: Details of National Caucus meeting of PDP emerges

The details of a National Caucus meeting of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, held on Thursday in Abuja have emerged.

It was learned that various issues concerning the party were discussed at the meeting which had in attendance members of the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party.

Parts of the issues raised were the review of the 2019 general elections, how to reposition the party ahead of the 2023 general elections, the state of the party, and the defection of the Ebonyi Governor, Dave Umahi, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

POLITICS NIGERIA learned that the NWC briefed the National Caucus on efforts made to persuade Governor Umahi to remain in the party and the dissolution of the PDP Ebonyi State Executive Council and the South-East Committee.

However, one of the decisions taken at the end of the meeting is the review of the party’s manifesto to align with the country’s current socio-political realities. Also, the decision will form part of the agenda of the PDP’s National Executive Committee meeting holding later today.
