“We spend N4 billion annually on school feeding program” – Kaduna govt reveals

Dr. Fauziya Buhari Ado, Special Assistant to the Kaduna State Governor on School Feeding, has disclosed that the state government allocates N4 billion yearly to sustain its school feeding initiative.

According to her, the program currently supports over 25,000 students enrolled in 51 boarding schools spread across all 23 local government areas of the state.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Dr. Fauziya reiterated the program’s pivotal role in boosting school enrollment and fostering economic opportunities for local farmers who supply produce for the meals.

“The economic impact of the school feeding program cannot be overstated. It has not only provided avenues for local food vendors and suppliers but has also spurred growth in our local economies,” she stated.

Dr. Fauziya reassured stakeholders of the state government’s commitment to upholding stringent guidelines on food quality, quantity, hygiene standards, and prompt service delivery in the program.

She added that the school feeding initiative remains a cornerstone of Kaduna State’s efforts to enhance educational outcomes and stimulate socio-economic development across communities.
