We Will Regain Power in 2027 – PDP Governors, Stakeholders Vow

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed to retake power at the federal level in 2027.

The declaration was made by its Governors, former Senate President and Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara, and Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum on Saturday during a grand civic reception and 76th birthday ceremony for Senator Wabara in Umuahia, Abia State.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, speaking on behalf of the PDP governors, expressed optimism about the party’s return to power.

He praised Senator Wabara as a true democrat who has sacrificed much for Nigeria’s development.

Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum, described Wabara as a stabilizer who has brought experience to the party leadership.

He expressed confidence that the PDP will regain its stronghold in the South East and return to power in 2027.

“All those temporarily migrating from the PDP will come back before 2027. PDP will take over what belongs to them.

“The PDP will come back sound, healthy, and victorious,” Damagum said.

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State hailed Senator Wabara as an icon of democracy, while Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, from the ruling Labour Party, made a surprise appearance, praising Wabara as an elder statesman and true son of Abia.

In his remarks, Senator Wabara pledged not to disappoint the party faithful and vowed to work tirelessly for the PDP’s success.

The event was attended by PDP heavyweights, including Governors Bala Mohammed, Godwin Obaseki, and former Governor Okwesirieze Nwodo, among others.
