Why IPOB should support elections in Igbo land – Nnamdi Kanu’s former Secretary

Amaka Ekwo, a former Press Secretary of Biafra political activist, Nnamdi Kanu, on Tuesday asked the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to encourage people of the southeast region to vote in the 2023 general elections in Nigeria.

POLITICS NIGERIA had reported that Ekwo said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari, “does not respect the rule of law”, and voter apathy from southeast electorates mean the governing party’s chances of retaining power in 2023 is high.

Speaking further on Tuesday morning, the Biafra activist expressed her opinion that IPOB showing aversion towards the 2023 election might put Anambra-born Peter Obi ‘at a disadvantage’ in the presidential poll.

Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, is the presidential flagbearer of the Labour Party (LP).

“We must be careful. Any attempt to stop election in Biafra-land will not be good for IPOB. If IPOB puts @PeterObi in a disadvantage in the coming election, Igbo politicians will never allow #BiafraReferendum to take place. They may fight to end IPOB,” Ekwo wrote on her known Twitter handle.
