Former Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Peter Obi has praised the governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki for joining the party on Friday.
Obi, in a message to Obaseki via Twitter, praised the Edo politician, saying that his move was in the ‘right direction’. He tweeted;
“I congratulate @GovernorObaseki for joining the PDP.”
“Your movement is a step in the right direction to end the rascality in Edo politics, especially at this time when the country should focus on ways of ameliorating the huge suffering of Nigerians due to #COVID19 pandemic.”
Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shuaibu have been granted waivers to contest on the platform of the PDP.
