Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun has congratulated Imo governor-elect, Hope Uzodinma on his declaration by the Supreme Court.
The governor in a statement released in Abeokuta signed by Kunle Somorin, his chief press secretary, lauded the apex court for its courageous pronouncements in the last Gubernatorial elections in Imo State.
He also described Uzodinma’s declaration as a manifestation of the divine will of God “and that truth crushed to earth shall sprout in the long run.”
“God is at work here”, he added.
Abiodun, therefore, urged opposition parties in the state to cooperate with the new governor and pray for his success in office.
He also admonished the former governor, Emeka Ihediora to take heart and see the hand of God in his dismissal by the Apex Court.
Abiodun also called on the political class to know that certain realities are beyond power play and punditry, adding that Uzodinma has not only come to swell the rank of APC Governors but to deliver the dividends of democracy to Imolites.
On his antecedents, Abiodun said Uzodinma has the competence, capacity, character, and wisdom to steer Imo State to the next level of development.
While calling on Imolites to accept the verdict of the Supreme Court in good faith by supporting the new helmsman, he said the time for politics is over, as it is now time for policies, programme, and actions that will usher in a new lease of life for the people.
