Labour Party Welcomes Tinubu Ahead of 2027 Elections — Abia Deputy Governor

Labour Party has declared that its doors are open to all Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Abia State Deputy Governor, Ikechukwu Emetu, made this known while addressing party leaders during the presentation of a report on the new membership drive.
The exercise was organised by the Nenadi Usman-led National Caretaker Committee. Emetu said the party remains committed to building a broad national movement that accommodates people from all backgrounds and political interests.
The Deputy Governor added that the party’s vision is national and not restricted to any group or region.
According to him, “The Labour Party is a national party and is not a cult group, where people will be restricted to coming into the party.”
Moreover, Emetu repeated that openness remains the party’s guiding principle, saying, “This is a national party; it is not a cult group where people are restricted from joining. It is a party for everybody.”
Nevertheless, party officials at the meeting described the membership revalidation and e-registration exercise as a key step toward rebuilding the party’s structure nationwide.
