Saliu Mustapha, a former Deputy National Chairman of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, talked about his projection for the APC National Convention on the upcoming 26th of February 2022.
Mustapha spoke about his expectation on the modalities and zoning arrangement to settle the zoning formula.
“With zoning, you are able to avoid rancour and acrimony that may arise from candidates wasting hard-earned resources on campaigns that may lead to nowhere,” Mustapha said.
“So, we are waiting anxiously for the modus operandi from the party. Forms haven’t been released and zoning hasn’t been announced but we know everything will be put in place soon. I’m sure the caretaker committee will choose the best approach that will give everyone a sense of belonging.”
He also voiced his opinions on how to balance interests and positions in the party of strategic party administration.
“For example, where position A goes to one region, position B should go to another region etc until all or a majority of interests are balanced. This way, you will be able to give every section of the country a sense of belonging,” the former deputy chairman added.
Due to how the issue of APC’s date delay has been going on long enough, many parties have built a lot of outlook for a better regulated APC National Convention this year.
