BREAKING: Mohbad’s Body has been Exhumed for Autopsy – Police

The Nigerian police have exhumed the body of singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, professionally known as MohBad, from his grave for an autopsy, the Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, announced on social media.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that MohBad died on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27, after allegedly being treated for an infection.

The Police PRO had confirmed the exhumation process, saying, “The exhumation is currently ongoing. We have here a team of health officials from the state ministry of health led by CP Owohunwa. The CP is also expected to visit Mohbad’s father later in the day.”

His death has been surrounded by controversy, with many calling for the cause to be uncovered.

The police recently launched an investigation into the circumstances of his death. This was ordered by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun.

Following the IGP’s directive, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, placed a ten-man team, including a pathologist, to exhume and investigate Mohbad’s death.

In October 2022, MohBad accused his former manager, singer Naira Marley, of assault and stated that Marley had ordered people to beat him up after he announced his intention to hire a different manager.

After MohBad’s death, it was reported that he had filed a police report in June 2023 alleging that Samson Erinfolami Balogun, a music promoter nicknamed “Sam Larry” and a known associate of Marley’s, had assaulted him and destroyed some of his property. In the report, MohBad said that Larry had interrupted a video shoot, leading a group of 15 men armed with firearms and cutlasses.
