The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki may well be on his way to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP as he met with the governor of Rivers State and top PDP chieftain, Nyesom Wike on Sunday afternoon.
It will be recalled that Obaseki was disqualified from contesting the APC primaries over discrepancies in his HSC and NYSC certificates.
Reacting to the development, Obaseki stated that he will not be contesting the party’s decision thus fueling rumours of his possible defection to PDP, the largest Opposition party in Edo state.

I wld strongly counsel Obaseki not to decamp to PDP,the little money he has saved should be judiously spent to take care of his family .He should note that he has to lubricate the PDP structure at home which has been starved for the past 12 years.Secondly in the course of funding the structure he might be tempted to dip his hand into the treasury illegally.Thirdly ,he might likely be hunted after the office by unleashing anti graft agency on him.My brother once there is life there hope take a que from Ambode.The Yoruba wld say Obe ti ge omo lowo ,omo so obe nu ,obe ti se ise to fe se literarily mean A child was cut by knife and he trow away the knife ,the knife has already wreck the harvoc.
In my own observation from unfolding event so far PDP taking the risk of making G. O. Obaseki there Governorship candidate is automatically lost out for the party in Edo State. If I am in Obaseki’s shoes I will complete this tenure and go into full scale business

Governor Godwin Obaseki, is free to create a better platform for his re election, he does not have problem with Edo people.
Governor obaseki has served the state, may the Lord bless and keep him. Therefore let him quit the seat and invest on something else and give chance for other person’s to come in.
Am just mute here. Men who are more than 80years are just being an obstacle to the upcoming once…..I just pray that someday, we will wake up to subdue this looming problem. Godfatherism till date: When will this country get it right. If this election is allowed to be ran in free and fair manner, no doubt Obaseke will win, but so far as I know, the Inec is dependent on the federal government so there must be a a present of federal might in Edo.. We are not modern in this country seriously

How can they have the guts, to disqualify obaseki for the primaries (for results forgery) while his first tenure he was eligible.
