A former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, on Wednesday, criticised people imitating the outfit the All Progressives Congress (APC) vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, wore to the Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on Monday.
POLITICS NIGERIA recalls that on Monday, the former governor of Borno State represented Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, at the annual conference held at the Eko Hotels in Lagos.
He turned up for the conference in a suit, tie, and a pair of sneakers.
But his outfit elicited a wave of mixed reactions on social media, especially on Twitter.
In the wake of the reactions trailing the former governor’s choice of outfit, some users — including 72-year-old songwriter, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy — took to social media to initiate the #ShettimaChallenge.
Reacting, Fani-Kayode, a chieftain of the ruling APC in Abuja, said that critics “only succeeded in exalting him (Shettima), lifting him up and mocking themselves”.
“When grown men in their 40’s, 50’s, 60’s & 70’s take pics in strange garb in an attempt to mock Kashim Shettima, our incoming VP, they do nothing but expose themselves for the infantile, asinine & jobless clowns & godless & disrespectful Phillistines & infidels that they are,” Fani-Kayode wrote on his verified Twitter handle.
“Nothing reflects the obsessive and narcissistic disposition, sociopathic tendencies, intellectual degeneration and moral turpitude of some of those in our midst than this imbecilic idiocy and repugnant behaviour.
“They behave more like bling-wearing ghetto gangbangers and hoodlum slum Kings than supposedly enlightened, educated, exemplary and civilised adults. They belong in a zoo or better still a jungle filled with wild animals. That is their natural habitat.
“They are nothing but toxic and ravenous beasts and spiritual vampires who seek to feed off the misfortune of others and sap their energy and who live to attempt to ridicule, humiliate and falsely accuse good men in a futile attempt to pull them down.
“They seek to mock Shettima but they only succeeded in exalting him, lifting him up & mocking themselves. Whilst he is displaying his natural & sheer brilliance with his informed commentary & speeches, which were well displayed at the NBA conference where he stole the show and whilst he is on the road to becoming VP, the miscreants are taking selfies of themselves in strange garb in an attempt to undermine & belittle him.
“Yet whether they continue to do so or not makes no difference to him or those of us that stand with him & BAT in this great quest & mighty battle. Whether they like it or not he is on the move & regardless of their antics he is marching on whilst they will continue to take childish little selfles & post them on social media for the rest of their sorry lives in an attempt to find relevance& seek validation from a faceless mob& their equally lost & deluded cheerleaders, friends & colleagues.
“That is all they have to offer or show for their miserable & frustrated lives & sorry existence. I have one message for them: GROW UP, ACT UR AGE & NOT UR SHOE SIZE & GET A LIFE!
“We have far more important issues to discuss and focus on in this country and far bigger problems to solve than someone else’s attire and the type of shoes, ties and suits that he chooses to wear.”
Mr Fani- Kayode, “hot” grammar won’t do it, no way. If a man seeking the office of vice president of a country cannot do a simple thing as dressing properly, something is wrong. Again, why was he not standing up to give his address. Standing up for extended period of time like two to four hours is also a test of how fit they can prove to us that they are in good health for the job of their dream.
HOW DO YOU DRESS PROPERLY AND HOW WAS HIS DRESSING NOT PROPERLY ADORNED?

THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS YOUR LIVES AHVE NOT BEEN ANY BETTER. YOU WOULD RATHER DWELL ON NOSENSE AND NON-SUBSTANCE AND IGNORE CUM JETTISON ISSUES OF IMPORTANCE.

Shettima HAS ATTAINED A HEIGHT IN LIFE MEANT FOR THE MIGHTY IN IDEAS BRILLIANCE INTELLIGENCE AND ACHIEVEMENTS ONY POSSIBLE FOR ONLY FOR THE NOBLE OF ANY SOCIETY ON THE SURFACE OF THE EARTH.
The team of ABAT/Shettima would continue to grow to greater heights while little men would retard and regress ceaselessly. No pity for the BRAINLESS from here.
