Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday paid a private visit to former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd), at his hilltop residence in Minna, Niger State.

The meeting, which began shortly after Atiku’s arrival in the early afternoon, was held behind closed doors and away from public view.

Information made available described the visit as a high-level consultation on key national issues ahead of future political engagements.

Discussions at the meeting were said to centre on electoral reforms, especially the debate around electronic transmission of election results.

Other matters reportedly reviewed include recent tax policies and broader governance concerns affecting the country.

About 40 minutes after the talks commenced, Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, arrived at the residence and joined the closed session.
