COVID-19: Police intercepts 50 persons hidden inside trailer loaded with fruits in Kwara

The Kwara State Police Command has intercepted fifty persons, who hid inside a Lorry loaded with fruits on Sunday.

POLITICS NIGERIA gathered that the passengers were intercepted at the Oyun area of Ilorin, the state capital for violating the inter-state lockdown.

It was learned that the trailer was stopped when it developed a fault in the area, which led to the offloading of the fruits from the lorry. While various fruits were piled up on top of the planks that were neatly arranged, no fewer than fifty passengers came out of the lorry.

Reacting to the incident, the state Public Relations Officer, DSP Kayode Okasanmi, said the command turned back the passengers who were coming from Zamfara State and heading to Ogbomoso to reside there.

He added that the police had prior intelligence report of the incident, adding that the passengers consist of  women, men, and young children.

Okasanmi noted that the command has ordered the trailer to return to the boundary of Kwara and Niger state, for onward journey to Zamfara.
