Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has reportedly met with some leaders in Benin Republic to negotiate asylum for Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a Sunday Igboho.
It was gathered that OBJ pleaded with the country’s leadership not to allow Igboho’s extradition to Nigeria. He made the plea when he made a condolence visit to Nicephore Soglo, a former president of Benei republic who recently lost his wife.
The former President had travelled to Tanzania on August 1 and rerouted to Benin, according to TheCable.
“He’s asking the Beninese authorities to grant the separatist leader asylum, and not to return him to Nigeria,” a source in the Benin diplomatic circle was quoted to have said. “The former president intervened on the request of some south-west leaders.”
POLITICS NIGERIA earlier reported that Igboho entered hot water while trying to escape to Germany with his wife through Benin Republic.
Igboho has been on the run since the Department of State Security Services, DSS raided his Soka residence in Ibadan, Oyo state. Several arms, ammunition, charms and fake passports were recovered during the raid. He is a wanted man in Nigeria.

Why are you reporting with certainty that arms and ammunition were recovered in his house? It was the DSS who claimed that they recovered them. You will remember that the search was done under the cover of darkness without a search warrant. All efforts to nail him will fail. Mark my words.
The term “wanted man” sound like something that could, in certain contexts have a positive implications. If Sunday Igboho is wanted in Nigeria as a criminal, I totally disagree with that designation. For me, people like him are wanted in Nigeria to help mobilize the citizens of that Country to fight for their rights and their lives. We want someone like him. So for most Nigerian he is a man that is wanted in the positive sense of the word.
I give kudos to our former president baba olusegun obasanjo, I supported our father baba i.e adeyemo Sunday a.k.a igbohoo should not realize to Nigeria federal government.

What often has Chief Sunday Adeyemo committed to warrant this high level persecution, along with other activists.
Grant him asylum.
Stop commenting about such hot issues. Let the cabals steer things as they wish.It is mere waste of words and energy. Anything happening is happening because they wish it to be happening the way it has been happening.
